Saying Shri Ganesh to the blog I started two years ago. Thanks to my mom - one of the world's best cooks (ofcourse only after my Indramma ajji and my sweet Aayi). I have decided that mom can do justice to this blog more than me. So here it is, straight from the horse's mouth.
We'll make Ganesha's favourite naivedyam today - Pancha Kajjaya. This snack is a hit with kids and elders alike.
Ingredients:
Aralu (Rice corn) - 1 cup
Roasted linseed (til) - 2 tbsp
Jaggery (powdered)- 3tbsp
Ghee - 1tbsp
Coconut (freshly grated) - 1cup
Cardamom (powder) - 1 pinch
Coconut water or milk - 3tbsp
*if you can't find aralu easily, try using avalakki (poha)
Method:
Take aralu in a bowl, add the roasted linseed, jaggery powder, grated coconut, cardamom powder, ghee and mix well. Sprinkle the coconut water or milk and mix well just before Naivedya or serving. Hey don't forget to offer your first dish to Ganesha!
Hope to continue this blog :)
